Get Off My Garden Cat Repellent Review
All our reviews are written by readers of The Scaredy Cat. TheGet Off My Garden Cat Repellent review was written by Judith Adams. She was getting fed up of animals ruining her prized flower patch. Here’s what happened when Judith was recommended The Get Off My Garden Cat Repellent by her friendly neighbour…
Get Off My Garden Scatter crystals are exactly like cat repellent pellets. They are scattered evenly across the grass to discourage dogs and cats from fouling. The product is mainly used for training purposes as opposed to a long term solution and won’t cover a huge amount of space. The best thing about Get Off My Garden is their consistency. The jelly-like substance is effective in all weather conditions and lasts for weeks, unlike many other pellet products which bio-degrade within a matter of days.
Get Off My Garden scatter crystals contain a chemical named Methyl Nonyl Retone, which is very uncomfortable for animals which it gets on their skin as it creates a strong odour that confuses their senses. This makes it perfect for bordering gardens as cats and dogs will learn which areas not to cross. While this chemical may sound abrasive, it’s actually completely harmless to both animals and soil; however, it should not be used near fish ponds.
Problem
There’s a certain part of my garden – a small flower patch – that seems to be a hotspot for the local wildlife. Everything from my own cats to the neighbours dogs and wild rabbits find shelter there. Perhaps it’s the vast selection of rare flowers that I’ve maintained over the past decade.
Anyway, when I started to notice some of the flowers dying I decided to root out the rest and re-plant them somewhere else. What I found under the soil was plenty of buried faeces. Since it started killing my flowers I can assume it was the cats as their poop is toxic. I came across Get Off My Garden through a neighbour. She saw me re-planting my flowers and when I explained the issue she gave me the remainder of her bottle. She had already solved her problems and had no use for it.
I took her advice and scattered the crystals around the flower patch. I also decided to leave the remaining plants in-tact while I conducted this little experiment. I was very pleased when later that day when I saw my cat approaching the area, she turned around and walked the other way. It’s only been a week, but I already feel comfortable enough placing my nice flowers back where they belong.
Pros
Get Off My Garden is very easy to apply. In fact, I never read the instructions since my neighbour demonstrated for me; but the process is pretty self-explanatory. It only took a matter of hours to see results, unlike many other products which take weeks of application.
Cons
It’s hard to fault Get Off My Garden since I’ve only been using the product for a few weeks. To date my experience has been nothing but positive. Perhaps the only issue is the price. For the quantity it’s quite expensive; however, the quality makes it worth it.
